CHANDLER, Ariz. – Four members of the Saint Anselm College field hockey team were honored on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) 2016 ZAG Field Hockey Division II National Academic Squad, it was announced on Tuesday morning.
Senior Rose Mooney was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad for the fourth-straight year, and was joined on the team by juniors Jamie McNamara and Katie Neyland, as well as sophomore Maddie Bressler.
Mooney started all 22 games for the Hawks this season, recording six goals and three assists for 15 points. She was named to both the NCAA and Northeast-10 All-Tournament Teams, and has been named to the Saint Anselm Dean's List and Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in all seven of her semesters on the Hilltop.
Jamie McNamara and Katie Neyland both appeared in all 22 games for Saint Anselm while each made one start. McNamara scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 4-0 victory over Southern Connecticut State and also added a goal in a 3-1 win over #4 Stonehill. Katie Neyland scored a goal in a 3-0 win at St. Michael's out of the backfield.
Maddie Bressler played in all 22 games for Saint Anselm, registering four goals and five assists for 13 points. The sophomore was named the NE10, NFHCA and Synapse Sports Player of the Week October 17, and scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win at Franklin Pierce.
