Healy, Kelly Garner ECAC Baseball All-Star Honors
CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Senior John Healy (Cranston, R.I.) and junior Robert Kelly (Aurora, Colo.) of the Saint Anselm College baseball team were recently named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II All-Stars.
Healy adds to his list of postseason accolades that includes Rawlings/ABCA All-America Second Team, Daktronics All-America Second Team, Daktronics All-East Region First Team, ABCA All-East Region First Team, NCBWA All-East Region Second Team, NEIBA All-Star and All Northeast-10 First Team honors.
Healy put together one of the greatest seasons by a starting pitcher in program history after going 8-2 with a 1.06 ERA alongside 98 strikeouts in 93.2 innings, while holding opponents to just a .188 batting average. Healy set a new program single-season strikeout mark, matched the program's single-season mark for wins and finished just 0.03 shy of the single-season ERA record. Healy allowed more than two earned runs in an outing just one time and captured five straight decisions from April 3 to May 9. Healy led the conference in ERA, ranked second in innings pitched, third in strikeouts and fifth in wins.
Kelly, who has also earned ABCA All-East Region First Team, All Northeast-10 Second Team and NEIBA All-Star honors, tied for the conference lead in walks (49), ranked third in RBI (51) and total bases (109), tied for third in extra base hits (23), ranked fourth in both home runs (10) and on-base percentage (.447), and placed ninth in slugging percentage (.519). Kelly also made just six errors in 407 chances for a .985 fielding percentage that ranked fourth in the conference amongst all players with at least as many chances.
