Athletic Department Announces Partnership with WGAM Radio for 2012-13 Year
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm College Director of Athletics, Dr. Kelly Higgins, in conjunction with WGAM “The Game,” has announced a partnership between the athletic department and WGAM ‘The Game’ for the upcoming 2012-13 season.
“We are extremely happy to be working with WGAM ‘The Game,’ and we think it is a great opportunity to bring more awareness to Saint Anselm athletics,” Higgins said. “It is an exciting time on the Hilltop as we bring Saint Anselm College, and its hard-working student-athletes and athletic programs, forward into the Greater Manchester and southern New Hampshire communities.”
As part of the agreement, WGAM ‘The Game’ will feature the Saint Anselm Coaches’ Show once per week, as well as a Saint Anselm Game of the Week during the winter season.
The Saint Anselm Coaches’ Show will air every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. as part of “The Nick Anastos Show,” which runs from noon-2 p.m. Anastos, a Bedford, N.H., native, has served as the color analyst for the Hawks’ Pack Network broadcasts of football, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s ice hockey since 2010. The show will highlight what is happening in the world of Saint Anselm athletics, as Anastos will chat with both a head coach and student-athlete during the 30-minute segment.
The Saint Anselm Game of the Week will begin during the winter season and feature a basketball contest, either live from Stoutenburgh Gymnasium or on the road. The station will pick up Saint Anselm’s Pack Network audio feed with Ben Altsher handling play-by-play duties and Anastos serving as the analyst.
“WGAM ‘The Game’ is committed to local sports in New Hampshire and we are very excited to continue that commitment with our partnership with Saint Anselm athletics,” WGAM General Manager, Matt Perrault, said. “Through ‘The Nick Anastos Show’ and our Saint Anselm Game of the Week, Saint Anselm fans will hear all about their favorite teams, coaches, and players on Manchester's only 24-hour sports station.”
WGAM “The Game” (1250 AM Manchester/900 AM Nashua), serves southern New Hampshire and is locally owned by Absolute Broadcasting, LLC. The station features ESPN Radio programming, including Mike & Mike in the Morning and The Dan Patrick Show, as well as local programming. The station also airs Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and Merrimack College Hockey, in addition to Westwood One sports programming.
